Bewitching bookshops in Iceland
1) Bókakaffi Hlöðum
The original bookstore Hlaðir was founded in 1973, running without disruption until 2004. In 2010, sisters Gréta and Svandís took over, transforming it into the modern and comfortable book cafe so cherished today. Bókakaffi Hlöðum is particularly favoured for its communal events, with singalongs hosted during the winter, and special weekday buffets, serving chocolate cakes and creamy waffles. |
