Sumptuous souvenirs in Iceland
1) Omnom Chocolate Factory
Located at the far end of the Grandi district, Omnom Chocolate Factory has been responsible for concocting some of Iceland’s most unique and delicious sweet products since 2013. Founded by childhood friends Kjartan Gíslason and Óskar Þórðarson, flavours such as ‘Black n’ burnt Barley’ and ‘Liquorice and Sea Salt’ have since immortalised Omnom Chocolate as a local favourite, and a palatable surprise for visitors. |

2) Móðir Jörð
Móðir Jörð (Mother Earth) focusses on growing outstanding organic products such as sweet pickled vegetables and chutneys, vegetarian burgers, breakfast barley porridge and local dried herbs. While these make for lovely souvenirs in their own right, there is perhaps no better takeaway than any one of the many jams curated at the farm, with the most popular flavours being blackcurrant, blueberry and rhubarb. |

3) Bera Icelandic Hot Sauce
With its distinct fruity flavour, Iceland’s first hot sauce, Bera, has proved an instant hit, providing a tingling Caribbean spice that complements a litany of meals. Cooked up by East Iceland local, William Óðinn Lefever, Bera hot sauce is made using the freshest ingredients sourced from Karlsstaðir farm in Berufjörður. Recently, they have added to their roster the new Dreki Hot Sauce, inspired by both Scandinavian and East Asian culinary traditions. |

4) LAVA SHOW
LAVA SHOW is a breathtaking spectacle that allows visitors to witness the raw power and beauty of volcanic eruptions. Located in the small coastal town of Vík in South Iceland, the show features a simulated volcanic eruption using real molten lava, which is poured into a small pit right in front of the audience. As a further draw, visitors can purchase volcanic rocks and ash that were used in the show, as well as hand-crafted jewellery and other volcanic-themed gifts, that all make for one-of-a-kind souvenirs. If you can’t make it down to Vík during your trip, good news! You can catch the same show in the Grandi area of Reykjavík.
